Huroth, the dragon chieftain, recognizes a need for his kind to adapt, by forming alliances and mate-bonds with humans, but his clan is divided. From the first time she meets him, Lady Orwenna is drawn to the magnificent chieftain. The mind link he forms with her is both fascinating and frightening, as is the powerful attraction she feels for him. If only she knew what was in his heart.
Does he want her for the woman she is, or for her magical abilities? When war breaks out between kingdoms and ancient enemies of the dragons resurface, the clan will be tested. In the midst of uncertainty, can Huroth and Orwenna find their way together?
“A cinematic thrill, “Dragon Wife” is an epic adventure from beginning to end. Ms. Green’s world-building is stellar and her sweeping descriptions paint vivid canvases worthy of an exposé. Imaginative and fresh, her tale invites the reader to enter the home of the dragons and stay awhile. With bold characters, steamy romance, mystical elements, and an adventurous story line, “Dragon Wife” isn’t just a toe dipper. It requires indulgent submersion in its fantastical bubbles. Ahh” – review from In D’tale Magazine

“Dragon Wife” by Diana Green is Book 1 of the Dragon Clan series and it plunges us into the fantastical world of Huroth and Lady Orwenna, a dragon chief and a healer, and the mental bond between them.
After centuries of sleep, the dragon clan is waking to a world where humans abound. Huroth understands the need for the clan to adapt by forming alliances with the humans, but not all dragons agree. As tensions mount and kingdoms go to war, not only will Huroth’s leadership be tested but, more importantly, also his bond with Orwenna.
Needless to say, with such a plot, I enjoyed reading it from start to end. Being a fan of Michael Moorcock, along with many other fantasy authors, I found in Dragon Wife all the ingredients to fuel my love for fantasy adventure. Good to know that this is only the beginning of the saga.
A great sword & sorcery novel that doesn’t disappoint.
I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.
